I was doing the "surfing" thing and ran across your website. It is a good thing! Keep up the good works for the harvest is great, the workers are few!

This site was recommended by one of my brothers in formation. There are twelve of us in the most recent class in the Diocese of Erie, and I'm certain we will all benefit from your site. Continued blessings and graces for all who live to serve. Candidate Harvey McQueen

Hello from Diocese of Nottingham, England (no comments about Robin Hood, please).
My name is Mel Harwood and I was ordained deacon last week (Jan 27th); starting to come down to earth and starting to find out what the diaconal ministry is all about. Glad you have provided such a resource and I hope to make good use of it in the months and years to come.
Please pray for me and the 13 others ordained with me; also for one other in our class whose ordination was deferred because of illness.

I enjoy your site even though I am a women and will not be able to be a deacon. I am in the Commissioned Ministry Program through the Green Bay Diocese of Green Bay WI. I heard about your site through a classmate who is studying for the Deaconate.
My Question is: What is the Catholic Churches Stance on having a Catholic Wedding outside at a Public Place where Weddings are performed? My son and his Fiancé have chosen to do this and would like a Catholic priest to perform the ceremony. I understand there was an article on your web site addressing this issue. Can you please email it to me. Thank You Ann Palm
rapalm@northnet.net
This site has unbounded potential as a resource but it retains material TOO LONG. It needs an auto delete (to archives) for retrieval via search but leaving everything in place, one can scarcely locate "recent responses"

Hello, I am a deacon in St. Patrick's Parish in St. Helens, UK. I find this site most helpful in terms of articles and source documents this is especially so for the newly ordained. However, as this site, by its presently unique nature commands premier position for the Diaconate it would be more useful if articles were shown dated in the menu and that the site is updated more frequently with new and challenging information and articles. Without that wishing to sound too negative the site is on the whole an excellent resource for Deacons. Peace and all Good.
John.Crooks@tesco.net
Very informative site and well put together. I am a deacon in the Anglican Rite Catholic Church and found some good information on here. God Bless, Dcn. Dennis Pfleiger

why were there no deacons in the chat room? i was going through a crisis at the time
This is a great site to gain an understanding about deacons. Are there any deacons in the UK who would be willing to get in touch.
michael.georgiou@btinternet.com
I've only now stumbled across this resource. I must not have been paying close enough attention in class. From my own personal experience Owen Cummings is remarkable and I am proud and privileged to have been one of his studies this last several months. Keep up the good work.

Extremely informative. A service to the world wide deacon community. Keep up the good work.

I just came across this site. I was ordained in Texas, but have lived in Kansas the last 12 years in the Diocese of Salina. They have no diaconate program and will not under current Bishop. I serve St. Joseph parish as Pastoral Administrator, parish minister, director of religious education. I miss not participating at the alter during mass and being able to do other aspects of a Deacon. Deacon Stan

This has been a very informative site for me. I am considering becoming a deacon in my diocese. My wife and I have talked about it and are seriously considering it. Though I'm only 29 I feel a strong calling to be more than just a lay person. The role of the deacon has always been intriguing to me. I think I could be an asset to my diocese. Please pray for me that I may make the right decision.

I am contemplating requesting to be considered a candidate for the diaconate, but do not wish to approach my Paster until I have information that I am searching for. I am single and retired and have hopes of pursuing the diaconate full time. I have been searching the internet looking for "basic requirements". I found your web site, referred to as "other links", a very informative resource which I will revisit frequently. I was not able to extract the information that I was seeking from the wealth of information on your web site. I would appreciate response for the "basic requirements" for the diaconate by email or recommending a web site or a book Thank you and God Bless.

This is my first visit to your site, thank you it seems to be a very useful forum for discussion.

With no disrespect, is a Deacon a "want to be priest?"-for lack of a more suitable name. Why is he called Rev. Mr. So & So? Doesn't a Deacon take away from the Catholic Church all of its' traditions,& uniqueness of years ago? What does a priest do at Mass now, except consecrate? Am just curious. Thank you.

I have only just come across your site. I am starting training for the diaconate in September. Any help (including prayers) I can get will be greatly appreciated.

A little greeting from an Oldcatholic Deacon in Denmark.
I most suddenly agree in that Deacons are ordained and should wear Roman/Clerical collar with no distinction, my priest wants me to wear a green clerical shirt the same as the lutheran deacons in my area BAD
